02/05/2010
Taken note of how a multitude of advances in computing have completely reimagined air travel and hospitality in the past decade? The driving force behind this is New Jersey’s own Nicholas Bredimus. This innovative man has found work in many areas, from the high value home design market through an advancement of air safety and computer programs to help with time management. He brings remarkable passion to any and all fields, too.
Examining Nicholas Bredimus‘ family tree anyone could discern he was sure to achieve greatness. His family traces its provenance as far back as the time of Rome and can boast of a varied mix of nationalities. The maternal line mingles Scottish and German ancestry. An equivalently unusual blend stands out in the paternal branch; previous to their emigration in the late nineteenth century, Bredimus’ forerunners lived in Luxembourg and England.
That passionate zeal pushed them on following their arrival. One of seven siblings – three boys and four girls – Nicholas had a father employed as a mechanical design engineer and a mother who worked as a practicing nurse. He would come to live in Texas, Kansas City, Arizona and Virginia.
What did he do with his heritage and studies? A number of high powered roles were soon his, each of them as part of major airlines. Mr Bredimus became a vice president with businesses like Trans World Airlines (TWA), Hughes Airwest, and Republic Airlines respectively. Nevertheless, above all the airline industry has felt the need to be thankful for services in the realm of computer programming.
His groundbreaking innovations in the field of aircraft maintenance computer programs, now put to use throughout the airline sector although originally designed for US Airways, ultimately led to what is probably his most famous achievement. He created many other computerized solutions for the airline and hospitality sector as well, among them completely automatic systems for handling airline bookings, now in use at fifty or more firms, not to mention his innovative PC based room reservation software deployed by the hotel sector, first offered to the public at more than seven hundred hostelries. Carrying what he had learned on to a related subject, he developed a networked system to assist in ticket ordering – another first. Bredimus has taken on quite a number of positions entirely outside of software design, let’s remember. Major jobs with American Airlines and American Express followed, and of course he launched his own firm seventeen years ago.
But is he still active? Absolutely – his brilliant intellect is still very much ready to answer the call in spite of his retirement. Currently, his inventiveness is on display in luxury class homes leveraging some of the cutting edge environmental and smart technology on the planet. All of which goes to illustrate what an untiring desire can actually accomplish.
